In September, 2019, I left Nigeria to study in the UK. As I walked through the corridors of Coventry University, seeing people of color as staff members challenged me. In my mind, I will asked questions like "how did he/she do it to get this role?" "Can that be me in a few months or year from now?" 🤔. I became curious, I need an answer.

Interestingly, God brought Dr Ik my way. He was my lecturer who taught me Project Management as a module. We got talking and I kept asking him different questions. Believe me, Dr Ik helped me alot. He was always available to answer my questions. He kept encouraging me to keep hope alive and that he believes that one day, I will also be in an office setting, providing services and solution, here in the UK. Dr Ik, I am saying "thank you" again 🤓.

Having worked in other corporate offices, I found myself in Birmingham City University as an IT Contractor (November 2022). Immediately I remembered my time as a student at Coventry University. I decided to become "Dr Ik" to other students from African decent. Few months after, BCU IT Department celebrated me for building a community of black people 🤓.

I became the "go-to" person when African International Students have any IT issues. They will always come to the office, demanding for my attention. I was and I am still happy to be the beacon of hope for Just One Student, walking around the campus without hope of what next after campus. 

I served and still serving as mentor to many international students even beyond the wall of BCU. I am happy that most of them are now settled and thriving in their various professions. Friends, it all start with the MIND, followed by the CONFESSION of my mouth, because, there is POWER in my TONGUE. 

Up till today, I still command those things that were not, as if they were. I still keep speaking to the universe and I make bold to say, that, I am hashtag#LivingtheDream daily. As Dr Chris Oyakhilome will always say "Don't stop saying it, keep talking about it." This is because, there is power in your tongue and the universe is ready to listen!

Moral Lesson: A future you have not pictured, you will never feature in that future 😉. See it, confess it, work towards it and just one day, you will wake up to see yourself hashtag#LivingtheDream 🤓.
