In 2015, through National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), I was posted to a place for my Place of Primary Assignment (PPA) in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria.
Right there, I crossed path with Dr Gaya Hankuri Tawus (Uncle Gaya as we fondly call him) 🤓. He was my immediate line manager. God bless him for me.
Before meeting him, I have always given myself to reading but this man his another bookworm entirely. He is always carrying books around. In his office, car and of course his house are always flogged with books. I cannot forget the day I saw his library. Almost a whole room dedicated to books.
He challenged me to become a refined version of myself. He recommends books for us to read as staff members in the office every month. At the end of my NYSC Year, I have read over a 100 books in the space of 12 months. Till today, 2015 remains the year I have read most books 🤓.
My worldview changed, my orientation shifted, my mind was re-engineered and most things I have been doing over the years till now were visions birthed in 2015 from the place of knowledge. Friends, you are what you consume!
CALL TO ACTION: Decide to read a book a month from today and see how better informed and transformed yoy will be by the end of 2026.
